Over five sessions this webinar series will provide participants with a framework for creating therapeutic stories with children and young people who have experienced trauma where expressing emotions is challenging.

Participants need to have experience working with children and their families, knowledge of Attachment, Trauma and Narrative Theory, be interested in storytelling, working with PowerPoint and be open to creativity.

The Webinar will be delivered via ZOOM and for privacy reasons will not be recorded.

  • to understand the process, what this means for a child, and how to apply it
  • to understand the differences between providing intensive Therapeutic Life Story Work and developing Therapeutic Stories
  • to examine the underpinning theory
  • to develop your own “how-to manual” and resource material for reference and support
  • understand the importance of using age-appropriate language
  • to equip participants with the tools for creating Therapeutic Stories and incorporating this way of working into their practice.
  • describe the model and procedures for creating Therapeutic Stories
  • identify suitable referrals for Therapeutic Stories
  • create your own “how to manual” and resource materials for reference and support
  • create effective and achievable plans of work, including costings
  • explain the issues relevant to creating Therapeutic Stories

Who should attend?

This training will be useful to Social Care Staff, councillors, therapists, therapeutic life story workers, teachers and youth workers and practitioners working with children and young people in out of home care settings.

Payment MUST be made by credit card at the time of registration (VISA and Mastercard will be accepted). Your registration will not be confirmed unless payment has been processed.

A confirmation/tax invoice will be issued upon registration to your nominated email address.

A full refund will be issued for cancellations up until 7 working days prior to the webinar. No refunds will be issued after this date however substitutions are welcome.

Should Berry Street cancel a webinar for any reason, those registered at this time will be entitled to a full refund of registration fees.
