Strengths-based strategies for teaching and learning
Students thrive when their strengths are identified and practiced. A strengths orientation asks us to focus on student potential, strengths and motivations for learning. This Berry Street Education Model masterclass supports educators to reimagine their interactions, address challenges and to support student growth.
Participation
Our masterclass builds on the strengths strategies introduced in the 4-day foundational BSEM training. It is suitable for any educational practitioner ready to explore their personal strengths, develop strategies to activate and leverage strengths in students, and reimagine school systems that support strengths-based approaches to behaviour and learning.
In this masterclass you will learn:
- Strategies to increase staff capacity and capabilities towards strengths-based education
- Strategies to help students increase their use of their own strengths including strengths to support classroom behaviours for learning.
- Strategies to fortify the impact of language and focus across the school community
- Ways to broaden the strengths focus from VIA character strengths to examining context, resources, diversity and community as strengths assets
- How using strengths and solutions to reframe conversations and maximise motivation
Cost
This masterclass is $350 including GST & refreshments.
Registration will remain open until Friday 11 October 2024 unless sold out prior.

This masterclass is for those who have completed the 4-day BSEM foundational training.

A full refund will be issued for cancellations up until 7 business days prior to the first day of the course. No refunds will be issued after this date however substitutions are welcome. Please note there are no shared registrations available.
Should the Berry Street Education Team cancel a course for any reason, those registered at this time will be entitled to a full refund of registration fees only, and this will incur no administrative charges or penalties.
Bookings may be transferred at the discretion of the Berry Street Education Team. Please put these requests in writing to bsem@berrystreet.org.au before the event. Transfers and cancellations will be subject to a charge.
