Youth Service Charter
This is a list of important things you can expect from Berry Street
To feel safe
An adult is always around to help me. I know I can tell a Berry Street worker or another adult I trust if I feel scared or worried.
To be involved
Someone will always talk to me about what I think, feel and want. I get to say what I think when decisions are being made about me. My workers explain important things to me and listen to what I say.
To be respected
I am respected for all the things that make me who I am. I am treated fairly. People at Berry Street care for me.
The adults who make decisions about you will listen to what you say but they can’t always give you what you want because they need to think about what is best for you.
Be heard
I get to say what I want and don’t want. A Berry Street worker will help me understand what things mean. If I have a problem someone will listen to me and help me.
To have privacy
The details that Berry Street keeps about me like my name, my history and my activities are kept safe and private. I can see my file and have someone explain it to me.
